How pairs work
Direct where it exists
When a provider quotes the pair, you get that rate exactly as observed, marked type: direct.
Derived where it does not
Any other pair is computed from the reciprocal or through USD, EUR or BTC in decimal arithmetic (never floats) and marked type: derived. Its timestamp is that of the oldest rate used.
Always the live list
This page reads the same data the API serves. A currency appears here only while we hold a rate for it, so what you see is what you can call.
In your code, list them with GET /v1/assets, /v1/assets/fiat or /v1/assets/crypto — free, never counted against your quota. Asset catalog reference →
